In-room Auction

To participate in an “In-room Auction”, you must be present at least 30 minutes before the auction begins, or during the viewing hours when the artworks are exhibited.
You may also participate online (see the rules for online participation).
You can register for “telephone bidding” (telephone bidders are accepted only after a special request sent by email).
As an exception, written bids are accepted, provided they are accompanied by the necessary financial guarantee documents.
A&M does not use so-called “reservation bids.”

A personal registration is required. Please provide a valid phone number and email address (for correspondence), and add your preferred payment method for after the auction ends. Registration for the in-room auction is possible until 15 minutes before the auction starts.

A&M auctions traditionally begin exactly at 19:19 (both online and in-room).

It is not possible to register on behalf of another person unless you have a notarized power of attorney specifically issued for participation in the auction.

You will receive a bidding number.

Please follow the instructions of the Auctioneer and the bidding steps.

The bidding increments are as follows:
€50 increments for lots priced up to €1,000 and €100 increments for prices up to €10,000
For artworks with a starting price of €10,000 and above, the bidding increment is €500 or more.
Bidding steps such as €176, €1,450, or €11,280 are not permitted.

During in-room bidding, please carefully follow the bids placed by telephone and/or online, as these may affect the lot you are bidding on.

Important:
When an estimation is provided (for example €1,000–€1,200), bidding begins as follows:
- At the discretion of the Auctioneer, bidding may start below the given estimate.
- If there is a pre-auction (online) bid for the lot, the bidding begins from the latest online offer (for example €1,500).
The bidder has the right to bid using the permitted increment and/or to decide whether to place a different, higher increment — for example: if online bidding is at €1,500, an in-room bidder may bid €1,800. This does not mean that the bidding increment automatically becomes €300. The size of the increment is at the bidder’s discretion (within acceptable limits).

Once the Auctioneer announces “Last chance! Sold!”, you will no longer have the opportunity to place a bid.
At that moment, the lot is closed — including the possibility for online bidding.

After the end of the In-room Auction, please return your bidding number and check with the organizers regarding the lots you have purchased. Please note that a commission for AH “A&M” is applied: 15% for each individual lot purchased. 10% A 10% commission applies to lots priced at €50,000 or to lots that reach or exceed this amount.

The organizers of the In-room Auction may refuse your registration if there are circumstances that could harm the reputation or prestige of the company and/or if you have been previously rejected during the online registration process of AH “A&M”.

The decision to refuse registration is the sole right of AH “A&M”.
